Jessica’s Final President’s Letter

Jessica’s Final President’s Letter

It is so hard to believe that this month marks the end of my role as President of the DFW Chapter. I am already overwhelmed with so many emotions. When you dedicate so much time and energy to something and watch it change and grow, as this chapter has, all you can do is be proud and grateful. Two years has flown by, and in that two years I have seriously had two of the most incredible boards that supported me and helped me accomplish things.   I cannot thank them enough for everything they did to help me service this chapter, for their passion and dedication and for all that I learned from them.

There are several board members that are leaving the board this year and I think they deserve a special mention. Rebecca Wright, Kimberly Rhodes and Zach Byther all served for multiple years on the DFW NACE board and they will be missed greatly as board members but we know they will continue to be involved and be contributing members of this chapter. I truly appreciate each of you and everything you did to contribute to our Chapter’s growth.

For the last 8 years Wendy Timson, CPCE, CMP has dedicated countless hours of service to our Chapter. She has served as Director of Membership, Director of Programs, 1st Vice President, President and Immediate Past President. I can’t imagine what next year will be like without her. Wendy has always been our go to person when we have questions, need advice or just need to run an idea past her. She is always the first person who will volunteer to help with anything whether it be writing our awards submissions, putting together powerpoint presentations or volunteering at White Rock Lake. She is creative, kind, generous, my friend and she loves NACE. I encourage each of you to reach out to Wendy this week and thank her for her years of service to our Chapter. I can say with confidence that we would not be here today without her and we are all going to miss her. But don’t worry Wendy…I will still be calling you

I also want to acknowledge each and every member for your support and your commitment to the success of this chapter. Many of you were part of committees, hosted and contributed to all the monthly programs and raffles, participated in the fundraiser and generously donated to one of our many community service projects. This chapter has such an amazing membership and I am so lucky to call so many of you not only colleagues but friends.

I look forward to continuing to serve as you Immediate Past President and supporting Leigh Tidwell, your new President and the 2016 board as they move forward and make changes for the future. Support the new board as you supported me the past two years. Get involved, join a committee and see how NACE can make a difference in your life!

All the best!
