The National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) Dallas / Fort Worth Chapter hosted its annual fundraiser on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Union Station to benefit Heroes for Children, a wonderful local organization that provides financial and social assistance to families, within the state of Texas, with children (0-22 years of age) battling cancer.
The event boasted a dazzling tabletop competition sponsored by industry associations and local wedding and special event businesses such as florists, décor rental companies, and event planners/designers. Celebrity judge Kimberly Schlegel Whitman presided over announcing the following winners for their tabletop designs, each themed around one of the children that Heroes for Children supports and their favorite superhero:
Most Practical – Association of Bridal Consultants for “Buzz Lightyear”
Most Creative – Red Sole Events for “The Incredible Hulk”
Best Individual/Group – The Garden Gate/BBJ Linen for “Superman”
Best Association – American Assn. of Certified Wedding Planners for “Sleeping Beauty”
People’s Choice – Wynnwood Catering & Special Events/TR Vivid for “Silver Surfer”
