Lauren Eck
Lauren has been on an intriguing journey in the special events and catering industry. Her story began with an internship at Design Cuisine in Washington, DC, where a newfound interest in catering and special events was sparked. After graduating from Penn State University, Lauren decided to try her luck in Dallas, Texas, a city known for its bustling event scene.
In 2012, a significant moment occurred when Lauren attended the NACE National Conference in New Orleans and developed connections within the DFW NACE community. These connections led to an opportunity with Wolfgang Puck Catering. Starting as a Catering Sales Manager for Reunion Tower, Lauren managed private dining reservations, organized private events, and promoted the event floor, Cloud 9.
Over time, Lauren worked her way up the ranks, taking on roles such as Senior Catering Sales Manager and Director. She also had a hand in overseeing various locations, including Union Station, Reunion Tower, and Off-Premise Catering. Additionally, Lauren contributed to the expansion of Wolfgang Puck Catering into the Houston, TX market and still oversees this today.
The COVID-19 pandemic presented challenges, leading to the furlough and layoffs of the entire sales team. However, Lauren persevered, continuing to support and maintain service levels across all Texas locations.
Today, Lauren holds the position of Regional Director of Catering Sales, responsible for overseeing the Texas market. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Cory, and two sweet daughters, Hadley Lane (7 1/2) and Lyndy Mae (1 1/2).
Throughout her career, Lauren served on the DFW NACE board from 2014 to 2018 and received accolades such as the DFW NACE Caterer of the Year in 2013, a spot on the NACE National President's List in 2014, DFW NACE President’s List in 2016, and induction into the DFW NACE Hall of Fame in 2022.
